Karma Yoga Studio and Gym is the oldest independent yoga studio and wellness center in Harvard Square. Learning from the owners, staff and users of Karma Yoga, Caroline transformed a portion of Karma Yoga into a storefront space to host retail “pop-ups” — a revolving cast of community-managed retail space in partnership with Karma. Caroline did space planning, working with the existing furniture stock, and did the staging to create a new look and feel for the venerable yoga studio. The aim was to create a welcoming “third place” by the entry to the studio and gym. Karma already has a loyal customer base of many years. The pop-up will nurture small-business / entrepreneurs in Cambridge as well as draw new yoginis. Caroline also did the styling for the first pop-up, RELOVE Cambridge – selling vintage clothes and homewares from brands including Marimekko, Iittala and Aarikka. RELOVE is based on a concept lifestyle store RELOVE in Helsinki. The Pop-Up is running from January 17, 2019 to Present, at 1120 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA.
